Reducing stress improves transport success.

Transportation of live fish can cause significant stress which may result in increased mortality.

Sedating fish with AQUI-S® prior to and during transport not only reduces their stress response but also decreases their metabolic rate. Lowering their metabolic rate results in reduced oxygen demand and decreased waste production, which in turn maintains transport water quality for a longer period of time. The overall result is better animal welfare and improved survival.

Panic response or avoidance to external stimuli is reduced with sedation, while swimming and equilibrium is maintained. If fish are too heavily sedated, they will lose equilibrium and cease swimming.
